Paul L. Schmitz, president and CEO of P&R Associates Intn'l., Akron, Ohio, has a long and successful career in domestic and international marketing -- as both a client and as an agency executive. This dual and unique career has given him an unusual insight into the interacting dynamics involved in both sides of the client/agency relationship.

Before starting his own agency in 1975, Mr. Schmitz had established an impressive background in the advertising and public relations agency profession, first as a new business account executive for Norman Malone Associates, Akron, and later as a senior v.p. at Media Message Advertising, Bedford, OH.

Prior to his career in advertising and public relations, Mr. Schmitz was director of marketing for Gulf + Western Corp. (Paramount Communications), Research & Product Development Division, Philadelphia, PA. Earlier, he was v.p. sales and marketing for Good Roads Machinery Corp., Minerva, OH.

Mr. Schmitz, a professional pilot and civil engineer, was also national sales manager (Chamberlain Aviation) of U.S. Stoneware, Akron. Previous to this, he was sales manager of expermental aircraft products, Goodyear Aircraft (Aerospace), Akron.
